Burst of color

It was so lovely to see these hibiscus blooming. They give a burst of color when it is most needed. That is to say, when I need it most. The autumn does depressive me excessively.

Thankfully, Jack the Frost monster has kept his distance as of yet. Many years Lady and Lord Baltimore--yes, these particular hibiscus have names. The pink one is the Lady and the red one is the Lord-- don't get much of a chance to bloom at all. They are very late blooming and therefore run the risk of getting nipped in the bud--quite literally!

Even with all this dreadful rain we've been getting, I must say it's been a better kind of autumn thus far. Hey, when we can get through September with no frost, it's officially a great autumn, even when the weather is less than ideal.
