L is for Litter

Still with the A-Z Blogging Challenge and L is for litter...litter of the pretty type, that is. Tom and I were at a botanical garden somewhere in the Belmont, North Carolina. We weren't even out of the parking lot when we saw the prettiest litter you'll ever see.

When we saw it we both grinned and shouted, "Oh, the petals! Litter all over! Horrible, terrible! Something should be done about this nuisance!"

Cherry tree sans the petals

Actually, we were just making fun of one of Tom's oldest--and at times most annoying-- friends who hates spring because of the horrible littering trees.

Yes, he hates flowering  trees like this ornamental cherry tree. Can you imagine hating a tree because it litters? Funny, but this same guy sees nothing wrong with coke cans, water bottles and potato chip bags tossed all over his car and home and trash strewn all over the sidewalks and streets of any city which he frequents, but this tree is a nuisance. Oh, yeah, the Lorax could give this guy a wedgie and I would cheer.

Just look at that tree litter! It's like having pink mulch. Barbie would be so happy.

It even makes the flowers look better. I'm telling you, any tree which can do this, give you this pretty type of litter, a beautiful mess, I'll gladly plant a couple dozen of them. Yep-yep-yep- I certainly would. Mr. Grumpy Litterbug can just stick it in his...garbage can...if he will bother to find one!

  1. How lovely. Thank you for sharing.

  2. Beautiful, Glory--we have a crab apple tree that does that-amazing piles of petals from the blossoms. Nature is beautiful.

Crabby litter bugs, go clean up your garbage, plastic and paper messes on your sidewalks, and leave littering to Mother Nature who does it with style-- beautifully ":)

  3. You're right about this being the prettiest litter :)
Hope you’re enjoying the challenge so far!
