This ain't much better. Why? Well, the snow might be melting...all 36 plus inches of it.... but now we have a super saturated soil which goes something like...
Squish...slurp...slop... a muddy, wet, unstable disaster. I want so much to go out and plant some seeds, but now is NOT the time.
The soil is simply not workable in such a state. I see all sorts of life poking out of the ground--wet as it is-- and it makes my heart sing. The dayliles, the daffodils, the crocuses are showing green tips of leaves--how they make it through all that snow is anyone's guess! The trees have a nice yellowish or reddish hue which always forms just as buds begin to plump up.
There is an anxiety about it, this time of year, when you want to start gardening, but you just can't. To do anything would be an act of futility. ~Sigh~ We must wait...at least until temperatures stay at a decent level. I hate waiting.
